License agreement
By installing or using Ferry you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, don’t use it.

1. What you may do
MAMP GmbH grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Ferry on Macs you own or control.
Ferry is currently a public preview and free of charge, for personal and commercial use alike. Each build stops working 30 days after it was made; a newer one normally arrives long before that, and the app checks for it on its own.
2. What you may not do
You may not:
- sell, sublicense, or otherwise pass Ferry on to third parties;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows it;
- remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
- use it in a way that breaks applicable law.
3. A preview is a preview
Preview builds are unfinished. They may contain errors, behave unexpectedly, or change in ways that are not backward compatible. Keep backups of anything that matters, and don’t rely on Ferry as the only copy of your data.
We may change or discontinue Ferry, or move it to a paid model, at any time. The preview grants no claim to a future version or to particular features.
4. Updates
Ferry checks for updates and can install them for you. Updates fall under these same terms. We’re not obligated to release particular updates or to keep particular features.
5. Intellectual property
Ferry and all associated content, trademarks, and intellectual property rights are and remain the property of MAMP GmbH. This agreement grants you no ownership in it; all rights not expressly granted here stay with MAMP GmbH.
Ferry includes third-party open source components, which remain under their own licenses — see Open source licenses.
6. Data
Ferry sends anonymous usage signals and, if it crashes, a crash report — so we know which macOS and app versions Ferry runs on, and what goes wrong on them. Neither contains file names, paths, server addresses, or credentials. If you write to us through Help → Send Feedback…, we receive what you type there, plus your name and email address if you fill them in.
Your server credentials stay on your Mac, in the macOS Keychain. They are never sent to us.
7. Termination
This license runs until terminated, and ends automatically if you breach these terms. On termination you must stop using Ferry and delete your copies. Sections 2, 5, 8, 9, and 12 survive.
8. Warranty
Ferry is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that it will be free of errors or uninterrupted, or that it will meet your requirements. This applies with particular force to a preview.
Where applicable law does not permit excluding implied warranties, the exclusions apply as far as the law permits.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MAMP GmbH is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Ferry, including loss of data — even if we were advised such damages were possible.
These limits do not apply to damages arising from injury to life, body, or health, or from gross negligence or willful misconduct by MAMP GmbH.
10. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. As far as the law permits, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Landau in the Palatinate, Germany. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence also apply.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update this agreement. Material changes will be announced here before they take effect. Continuing to use Ferry after that means you accept the revised terms.
12. General
This agreement is the entire agreement between you and MAMP GmbH regarding Ferry. Should any provision be invalid in whole or in part, the remaining provisions stay in force.
